Fairfield Co. Coroner identifies person who died after multi-vehicle collision

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Fairfield County Coroner’s Office has identified the person who died after multi-vehicle collision on Friday, said the coroner’s office.

The multi-vehicle collision happened on US Hwy 21 S. in Ridgeway.

According to Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill, Jerrold Freeman, age 76, of the Lake Wateree area of Fairfield County was the restrained driver of a SUV involved in the collision and was pronounced deceased upon emergency services arrival.

An autopsy will be conducted with Newberry Pathology to determine the cause of death.

The collision remains under investigation by the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
