SC tax refund taking longer
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– If you’ve already filed your taxes and are still waiting for your returns you’re not alone.
The South Carolina Department of Revenue says the 2025 return processing is taking longer than usual because the state currently doesn’t conform to the federal one, Big Beautiful Bill Act that was passed last year.
The reason why is because South Carolina has not had an opportunity to consider these federal changes for purposes of state income tax.
The department says until lawmakers address conformity state taxpayers will need to adjust their return.
The deadline to file is April 15.
