COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)–  When a convenience store didn’t have the lottery ticket a Midlands man wanted, he picked out another ticket that made him a millionaire, according to SC Lottery officials.

He purchased the winning Millionaire Bonus ticket at the Palm Pantry #10 on Savannah Hwy in North, Orangeburg County.

“I couldn’t believe it. I wanted to cry, but I couldn’t,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.

He took the $10 ticket home and scratched it while standing in his kitchen.

The last row of numbers on the card revealed the “$1MIL” top prize, said lottery officials.

“I am ecstatic. Things that I have wanted to do and couldn’t afford to do, I can now,” he stated after cashing in his big win.

Odds of winning $1 million in the Millionaire Bonus game are 1 in 1,500,000.

SC Lottery officials said two more $1 million prizes remain in the game.
