Pedestrian struck and killed on US-301 overnight in Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was struck and killed in an overnight collision.

It happened on US Highway 301 near Dempsey Road at 12:50 a.m.

According to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, the pedestrian was in the roadway, when a 2018 Mazda SUV travelling south struck them.

The pedestrian died from their injuries and the Mazda driver wasn’t hurt.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the victim’s identity as the investigation continues.
