U.S. government ordered to refund $130 billion from tariffs

(CNN)– A federal trade court in New York has laid the groundwork to force the federal government to refund tariffs.

Wednesday, March 4, a judge ordered the Trump Administration to start paying back more than $130 billion worth of tariffs to importers.

Two weeks ago, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the levies illegal.

Since then, more than two thousand lawsuits have been filed by companies seeking their money back.

Plaintiffs include well-known entities like Costco, FedEx and Pandora Jewelry.
