Calhoun Co. deputies arrest man in connection with illegal gambling

CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Calhoun County deputies have arrested one man in connection with illegal gambling, said the sheriff’s office.

Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department said, due to following up anonymous tips from the community an investigation launched into an illegal gambling operation.

The investigation led to the illegal gambling operation in the Sandy Run area of Calhoun County to beย shut down.

โ€œ๐™„๐™ก๐™ก๐™š๐™œ๐™–๐™ก ๐™–๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ซ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ ๐™ž๐™จ๐™ฃ’๐™ฉ ๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง๐™ก๐™ค๐™ค๐™ ๐™š๐™™ ๐™ž๐™ฃ ๐˜พ๐™–๐™ก๐™๐™ค๐™ช๐™ฃ ๐˜พ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ฎ โ€” ๐™ž๐™ฉ’๐™จ ๐™˜๐™ค๐™ง๐™ง๐™š๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™š๐™™,โ€ Sheriff Summers said.

With the assistance of SLED, deputies were able to arrest Irvin Phillip Rogers, Jr. who is accused of operating an illegal gambling house.

Rogers was charged with unlawful possession &/or operation of slot, video, vending machine or gambling device, unlawful games and betting, keeping unlawful gaming tables, and unlawful storage of liquor.

Several other individuals were also cited at the scene.
