SCDOR extends tax filing deadline

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The State Department of Revenue has extended the tax filing deadline from April 15 to October 15 because the state has not conformed with the current internal revenue code.

At the State House, lawmakers are discussing a bill that would do just that.

Officials say the filing extension applies only to the deadline to file your return not to pay what you owe.

You will owe penalties if you don’t pay at least 90% of your 2025 tax liability by April 15.
