Lexington woman charged with stealing cars from dealership

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington County deputies have arrested a woman accused of stealing and damaging cars at a used car lot, said officials.

Lexington Co. Sheriff Jay Koon said, deputies received a report about a suspicious vehicle near a dealership and body shop in the 2500 block of South Lake Drive early Thursday morning.

“When a deputy got there, he noticed a car with significant front end damage,” states the sheriff.

According to Sheriff Koon, the deputy was able to connect the car back to the dealership during his investigation.

The deputy was able to determine the car that was reported as suspicious was driven through a gate at the dealership.

Additionally, the deputy found four other cars with damage indicating someone had tried to steal them.

Sheriff Koon said, while the investigation was underway at the dealership, deputies pulled a car over that was reported stolen from the same dealership.

A woman who was identified as 20-year-old Da’Niyah Shanesse Fulks, and four minors were in the car.

Fulks was arrested during the traffic stop, and taken to the Lexington County Detention Center.

She was charged with three counts of grand larceny, two counts of breaking into motor vehicles, and one count each of malicious injury to real property and criminal conspiracy, according to arrest warrants.

After taking the minors into custody during the traffic stop, deputies took them to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
