Man dies after falling off Lake Murray dock, dive team recovers his body

LAKE MURRAY, SC (WOLO) — According to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, a man’s body was recovered from Lake Murray Saturday night.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Travers Antonio Berry, 50, of Columbia.

Captain Adam Myrick with LCSD says along with friends and family, Berry got out of their boat at the Irmo side of the dam.

A witness reported seeing Berry fall off the dock into the water as he bent over to put on his shoes.

The witness reports he then jumped in and tried to rescue the man to no avail. A dive team recovered Berry’s body from under the dock around 11 p.m.

This is an ongoing investigation.
