Tariff refund process begins
(CNN)– Customs and Border Protection started accepting applications for tariff refunds Monday, April 20,2026.
Its portal is in response to a Supreme Court ruling that struck down the president’s most sweeping duties.
The decision suggests American importers are due about $166 billion in refunds, plus interest.
CBP estimates the money will go out 60 to 90 days after an application’s approval.
Not all tariffs and parties are eligible for reimbursements at this stage.
And the Trump Administration is signaling it might try to delay or reduce the refunds.
