Lawmakers raise awareness about hunger on SC college campuses

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Lawmakers from both parties joined students and advocates today to raise awareness about hunger on college campuses in South Carolina.

Advocates say one in three college students experience food insecurity and South Carolina ranks near the bottom degree attainment food security.

Tuesday, April 21’s event was organized by grass roots group Bread-for-the-World, the Student Basic Needs Coalition, and food-share South Carolina.
