Amazon invests $25 billion into Anthropic

(CNN)– Amazon is getting more involved with artificial intelligence.

The tech giant announced this week it will invest up to another $25 billion in Anthropic,  the Ai startup that developed the Claude chatbot.

The deal begins with a $5 billion boost that could increase by another $20 billion if Anthropic reaches certain milestones.

Amazon previously gave the company $8 billion.

Officials at Anthropic say they will spend $100 billion on various services including computing power from Amazon’s cloud computing business.
