Sumter Co. deputies make arrest in relation to Saturday shooting

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says an arrest has been made in the shooting death of a 36-year-old man.

Yul Iziah David has been arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in relation to the shooting death of Bryan Dargan from Sumter.

At about 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, Sumter County Dispatch received a call reporting a shooting on Collins Street.

Deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, where they found the victim and attempted to provide immediate aid.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yul Iziah David, 32, of Manning, fled the scene following the shooting, says the sheriff’s office.

With the help of officers from the Sumter Police Department, Sumter County deputies identified the suspect’s vehicle and located David at a home on Spaulding Avenue.

Deputies also located a firearm suspected to have been used in the shooting, say law enforcement.

David was taken into custody without incident and detained for questioning.

Investigators learned that David and Dargan were acquaintances who had a disagreement.

It is believed that David drew a weapon and shot Dargan several times.

He was taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where his bond was denied, and he remains in custody.
