Local Living: SCSM free Mother’s Day admission, Law Enforcement Torch Run, Columbia Black Expo, Songbird Music Festival
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the South Carolina State Museum is celebrating Mother’s Day with free general admission for all moms.
This Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can enjoy four floors of exhibition galleries.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics is Friday, May 8.
At 2:30 p.m. you can go 7 miles from Broad River Road to Main Street or a 1 mile run from Main Street to the State House at 4:30 p.m. or the 2 mile run from Fort Jackson’s Traffic Circle to the Solomon Center.
Get ready for a celebration of culture and flavor.
The Columbia Black Expo is next Saturday, May 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the state fairgrounds.
Guests will enjoy celebrity appearances, educational seminars, and dynamic live performances.
You can also enjoy food with the Taste of Black Columbia next Friday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m.
Don’t miss the inaugural Songbird Music Festival on May 30 through May 31 at Finlay Park.
The headliners for the event are Americana great ‘Old Crow Medicine Show’ and Bluegrass Legend Sam Bush.
16 other local and national acts will also perform.
