Local Living: Lower Richland High celebration, Caring Hearts of SC, Cola Jazz Fest, Columbia Black Expo

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, Lower Richland High School is celebrating 100 years of education in the community this weekend.

A concert series kicks things off Friday, May 8, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Lower Richland High School.

There will be a parade Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 9 a.m. on Lower Richland Boulevard.

 

Caring Hearts of South Carolina has postponed their 4th annual Car Show and Touch-a-Truck event this Saturday, May 8.

They moved the event to Saturday, June 13 at Ridgeland High School.

Your kids can interact with fire trucks, police cars, and much more.

Plus enjoy live music, a petting zoo, and plenty of food.

 

The 9th annual Cola Jazz Fest is coming to Finlay Park next week.

The outdoor festival brings together acclaimed jazz artists, food, and culture.

The lineup includes Endea Owens and the Cookout, Willie Bradley and more.

It takes place May 15 and May 16 and free to attend.

 

Get ready for a celebration of culture and flavor.

The Columbia Black Expo is next Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the state fairgrounds.

Guests will enjoy celebrity appearances, educational seminars, and dynamic live performances.

You can also enjoy food with the Taste of Black Columbia next Friday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m.
