One killed in tractor-trailer collision on Whetstone Road Friday

ORANGEBURG CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says a driver is dead following a collision early Friday morning.
It happened at 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of Whetstone Road and North Road.
According to Lance Corporal Brittany Glover, a 2016 Freightliner Tractor-Trailer travelling north collided with a 2023 Mercedes Benz box truck travelling east.
The Mercedes box truck driver died at the hospital from their injuries, while the freightliner truck driver was injured and taken to the hospital.
The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity as of yet.
The investigation is ongoing.
