Sumter County deputies control hostage situation on Cane Savannah Road
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis says members of the sheriff’s office’s Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) and U.S. Marshals are at an active scene on Cane Savannah Road.

Residents are advised to avoid the area on Cane Savannah and Salley Street in Wedgefield where emergency vehicles are located.
Deputies say the active scene was a hostage situation with a barricaded person, and the hostages have been released.
