Orangeburg Co. coroner releases name of pedestrian dead after collision

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle has released the name of the pedestrian who dead after a fatal collision, says the coroner’s office.

The collision happened on Monday night, May 18, 2026, around 11 p.m. in the 300 block of Citadel Road.

The person was identified as 36-year-old Bernard Washington Jr.

Washington was pronounced as dead at the scene due to blunt force injuries received during the collision.

His dead is ruled as an accident.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office and the SC Highway Patrol continue to investigate.
