Man arrested in hit and run that killed a pedestrian in Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG CO, S.C. (WOLO) – Highway Patrol says a man has been arrested for a fatal hit-and-run Monday night.

Donovan Davis has been charged for the incident in the 300 block of Citadel Road.

According to investigators, after 11 p.m., Bernard Washington Jr., 36, of Orangeburg,  was walking on the road when he was struck by Davis, who left the scene.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office says Washington died on scene from blunt force injuries & the manner of death is ruled as an accident.

This incident remains under investigation.
