New law raises minimum CSAM sentences

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Attorney General Alan Wilson and other law enforcement officials were at the State House Wednesday, May 20 to celebrate.

The new law raises mandatory minimum sentences for creating, distributing, and possessing child sexual abuse material.

Wilson says the new sentencing guidelines will send a strong message to child predators.

Representative Travis Moore and Senator Allen Blackmon sponsored the measure.
