Forest Acres Police: Man in custody following deadly domestic violence incident

FOREST ACRES, S.C. (WOLO)– Forest Acres Police say a man is in custody following a deadly domestic violence incident Tuesday, May 26.

Officers say before 3:40 p.m. they responded to perform a welfare check at a home on Barnes Springs Road.

When they arrived the home was barricaded, they forced their way in, and found a woman’s body.

Negotiators made contact with the suspect in the home, and were able to get him to surrender.

The suspect who they believe was injured before they arrived received treatment at the hospital and remains in custody.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity as the investigation continues.
