America 250 series takes a look at the generational pull of America’s Pastime
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – ABC Columbia is celebrating America 250 with a series of stories that highlight all things American with a South Carolina touch.
There are many aspects to our country’s collective story, including one that transcends generations – a love for baseball.
Known as America’s Pastime, baseball is played in backyards, local ballparks and stadiums across the nation.
ABC Columbia’s Kelly Coakley recently talked with the father and son owners of Anchor Bat Co. in Greenville, about how the game has touched their lives and how they are making sure it does the same for others.
She also spent time with a Midlands Rookie Ball coach and his seven-year-old son to see how America’s Pastime takes root in the hearts of the young.
