SCDOT hoping new project will ease traffic in Chapin
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with the SC Department of Transportation are hoping a new project will ease traffic in Chapin.
It is called the Columbia Avenue Corridor and officials say it will reduce traffic congestion from I-26 to downtown Chapin.
Officials who spoke with ABC Columbia say it is a critical development in a rapidly growing part of the Midlands.
The project comes with a price tag of more than $75 million.
It is expected to be complete in October of 2029.
