Kalshi to ask for employer info to combat insider trading

(CNN)– The popular prediction market Kalshi says it’s implementing new rules to crack down on insider trading.

The federally-regulated platform announced it will soon require users to disclose where they work before betting on certain high-risk markets.

And in some cases, a user may be blocked from a trade based on their employer.

Kalshi’s new rules come amid rising concerns about insider trading and follow recommendations from an advisory committee that called for tighter security measures.

The company says it’s also rolling-out new whistleblower features to report abusive trading activity.
