Pre-orders open for $25K EV trucks

(CNN)– Usually when you buy a hybrid or electric vehicle it comes with most modern conveniences.

One company wants to change that in the name of affordability.

Automotive start-up Slate which is backed by Amazon is now taking pre-orders for its bare-bones electric truck.

It’s so stripped down, it doesn’t even have speakers, uses hand-crank windows, and isn’t painted.

For making those sacrifices, owners will get a small truck that gets 205 miles per charge for just $25,000.

You can also upgrade the battery for extended range.
