Shipping in Strait of Hormuz increases

(CNN)– Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has ticked up Monday (June 29), according to ship tracking data.

Ship tracking data showed a number of larger tankers using a more southern route close to the Omani Coast.

Ship traffic however is still well below pre-war levels.

The U.S. and Iran exchanged fire multiple times over the weekend leading to a sharp drop in traffic through the Strait.

But a U.S. official says the two countries later agreed to stand down for now.
