CPD: Man charges upgraded to murder after Harden Street shooting victim dies
COLUMBIA, S.C.(WOLO)– Columbia Police say someone has been arrested in connection with a Sunday shooting that happened on Harden Street.

Around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, officers responded in the 1100 block of Harden Street after receiving reports of a shooting.
Once at the scene, officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and has since died due to his injuries.
After an investigation by CPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau, 28-year-old Xavier Ramon Daniels has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred during a physical altercation, during which Daniels allegedly produced a firearm and shot the victim.
Daniels admitted to shooting the victim, and the incident was captured on surveillance video, according to Columbia Police.
He was initially charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Following the victim’s death, investigators worked with the 5th Circuit Solicitors Office and had the charges upgraded to murder.
