Novo Nordisk sues Eli Lilly over advertising

(CNN)– It’s a legal battle between weight-loss drug heavyweights the maker of Wegovy is suing Zepbound manufacturer Eli Lilly.

The lawsuit filed by Novo Nordisk says Eli Lilly’s advertising claims are deceptive.

At issue are ads that say patients on Zepbound lost more weight than those taking Wegovy.

Novo Nordisk is arguing those claims are based on comparing the highest doses of Zepbound to the lowest doses of its Wegovy.

The company wants Eli Lilly to pull the ads and issue new ones with correct information.
