Two men arrested following Marion Street shooting

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Two men have been arrested by the Columbia Police Department following a shooting on Friday night at the 1400 block of Marion Street.
Investigators say Shahean Whetstone and Wa-sheed Cloud face multiple charges:
• Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature (ABHAN)
• Assault and Battery, First Degree
• Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime
• Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
CPD officers responded to the 1400 Block Street following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers say they located one victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body. The victim is expected to survive.
During the investigation, officers received information regarding a suspect vehicle connected to the incident. CPD officers located the vehicle shortly after the shooting and detained Whetstone and Cloud. Both men were transported to CPD Headquarters and later charged.
The investigation remains ongoing.
