Local Living: Sistercare’s toiletry drive, Lexington Co. Animal Shelter free adoptions, Okra Strut, SC State Fair discount sale
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, you can donate to the City of Columbia and Sistercare’s toiletry drive to help victims of domestic violence.
They are looking for donations like facial wipes and liquid hand soap.
You can donate now through October 31.
Due to their kennels being full the Lexington County Animal Shelter says it’s offering free dog and cat adoptions all month.
Every adoption comes with spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchips.
No appointments or applications are required.
The shelter is located on Ball Park Road.
And the Town of Irmo is hosting their 51st annual Okra Strut next month.
Opening ceremonies will kick off at 6 in the evening Friday, September 25.
Then the fun continues through Saturday, September 26, at 9 in the morning with a parade followed by family-friendly activities.
It all takes place at Moore Park and is free to attend.
The South Carolina State Fair announced its 250 minutes of saving promotion in honor of America’s 250th birthday.
Next Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
you can purchase five admission tickets for $45 dollars and ride vouchers for $33 dollars each online.
The state fair takes place between October 15 and October 25.
