Local Living: toiletry drive, free dog and cat adoptions, Labor Day celebration, Greek Festival

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, you can donate to the City of Columbia and Sistercare’s toiletry drive to help victims of domestic violence.

They are looking for donations like facial wipes and liquid hand soap.

You can donate through October 31.

Due to their kennels being full the Lexington County Animal Shelter says it’s offering free dog and cat adoptions all month.

Every adoption comes with spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchips.

No appointments or applications are required.

The shelter is located on Ball Park Road.

The Town of Chapin is hosting their annual Labor Day Celebration.

This year’s theme is “Stars, Stripes and Service — Celebrating 250 Years”.

There will be a 5k run, live music, food, and a parade.

The fun kicks off Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7.

Don’t miss the annual Greek Festival next month.

You can enjoy music, food, vendors, and learn little bit about Greek culture.

It takes place September 17 through September 20 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Sumter Street.

Admission is free.
