U.S. Forest Service to close 23 facilities

(CNN)– The U.S. Forest Service says it will close 23 of its facilities in a move officials say will save more than $16 million.

The agency says a recent nationwide review found that the targeted facilities are underused.

Affected employees will keep their jobs, but will move to other facilities in their areas.

The Forest Service manages more than 16,000 buildings nationwide.

It says it will keep reviewing the feasibility of other locations.
