Columbia firefighters rescue lost hiker at Congaree National Park Tuesday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia firefighters say they rescued a lost hiker at Congaree National Park Tuesday afternoon.

According to investigators, due to the challenging terrain and water-access areas within the park, their crews utilized water assets to safely reach the individual.

Working alongside National Park Service park rangers, firefighters say they located the hiker and safely took him back to his vehicle.
