Diesel now costs more than $6 a gallon

(CNN)– Another inflation indicator is flashing red.

The price of diesel is now above $6 a gallon for the first time ever.

AAA reports it’s averaging $6.06 today.

Many trucks, trains, and boats use it for shipping goods so it can have a significant effect on prices.

A Brown University tracker shows diesel price increases have cost U.S. households about $355 each since the Iran War began.

Combined with gas hikes the total is closer to $800.
