Town of Irmo to hold public info meeting on referendum

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– Happening tonight (Thursday, September 17) the Town of Irmo will hold a public informational meeting on a referendum that will appear on November’s ballot.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Irmo Municipal Building.

The referendum is about changing the town’s official form of government from the current council form to the council-manager form.

The council form splits management duties among council members while the council-manager form leaves it to a professional manager.

Town officials say nothing will change in terms of day-to-day municipal operations, leadership or town services but it will solidify how it already operates.
