Midlands non-profit accepting Dolly Day donations

(CNN) — People all over are remembering Dolly Parton on September 25: “9 to 5.”

California and Ohio have declared it Dolly Parton Day as have Manhattan, New Orleans, Portland, Oregon, and of course Nashville, among other cities.

And the Dollywood Foundation is calling it “Give Like Dolly Day,” encouraging support of her “Imagination Library.”

Also today marks one month since Parton died at age 80.

Here in the Midlands, the Palmetto Project is participating in Dolly Day.

The non-profit is a partner with Dolly’s Imagination Library.

In honor of Dolly Day, Palmetto Project is accepting donations that will provide books to young South Carolina readers.
