The report cards measure a school’s academic success, student progress, “college or career readiness,” and school climate.

Last year (2025), the South Carolina Department of Education and the Education Oversight Committee reported South Carolina’s high school graduation rate is at a ten year high of around 87%.

However, math remains a statewide area of improvement with around 44% of third through eighth graders considered as “on grade level.”
