Richland County Council members held ceremony for new road widening project
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Council members held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday morning, October 15 for a new road widening project at Pineview.
According to officials, the Penny Project aims to ease traffic flow by widening the existing roadway from two lanes to three lanes between Shop Road and Garners Ferry Road.
Crews are expected to add a two-way independent turn lane along the length of the roadway, with exclusive left-turn lanes at multiple locations.
In addition, crews have installed a new traffic signal at Pineview Road and American Italian Way.
