New traffic pattern to be implemented on U.S. Route 21 bridge over Congaree Creek

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– SCDOT will implement a new traffic pattern on the U.S. Route 21 bridges over the Congaree Creek on Monday, November 2.

The southbound lanes of U.S. 21 will shift onto the newly built bridge while the two northbound lanes will remain in their current location, says SCDOT.

The bridge construction is expected to be completed in late 2027.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
