Bachmann Visits Midlands

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP)– Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann says the country cannot afford four more years of the Obama administration’s costly policies. Bachmann made the comment in South Carolina, which is home to the nation’s first-in-the-South GOP primary. The Minnesota congresswoman told several hundred supporters Wednesday in Lexington that President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul is an expense the U.S. cannot afford. Bachmann’s stop in the GOP stronghold came at the midpoint of her South Carolina tour. Later, the Republican was slated to visit with voters in Greenville before holding a town hall meeting in Rock Hill. On Tuesday, Bachmann argued in New Hampshire that Washington is full of wasteful spending ideas. She ended the day with an appearance in Myrtle Beach. ___ (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press.
