Roommate charged in man’s death in Anderson hotel
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — The roommate of a man found shot to death in an Anderson hotel has been charged with murder.
Police said 60-year-old Edward Wenzel killed 54-year-old James Cobb after the two argued Saturday morning at the Stay Lodge Extended Stay Hotel. Investigators aren’t saying what the argument was about.
Wenzel is charged with murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He is being held without bond at the Anderson County jail and it wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
The coroner’s office says Cobb, who was from Columbia, was shot twice in the chest, with the fatal bullet severing his aorta.
