American Idol hopefuls get chance in Cary audition
CARY, N.C. (AP) — Talent scouts for American Idol will be visiting Cary with an eye — and ear — on possibly finding the next winner.
Hopeful performers are expected to begin lining up early Saturday to register for an audition spot at Cary Towne Center. One singer will be chosen from among the Cary contestants to travel to Charleston, S.C., for an audition with American Idol producers.
Participants must be U.S. citizens between the ages of 15 and 28.
Raleigh’s Clay Aiken was a runner-up in the 2003 season of American Idol. Garner’s Scotty McCreery captured the 2011 title in May.
