Clemson DE Gore out for start of fall practice
CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson freshman defensive end Joe Gore has undergone surgery to repair a knee injury that will keep him on the sidelines for the start of fall practice.
The school said Monday that Gore hurt his knee during a workout last Thursday. Clemson did not give additional details on the injury. Gore will miss at least the first two weeks of camp while he recuperates.
Gore is a 6-foot-6, 260-pound lineman from Lake Waccamaw, N.C. He enrolled at Clemson last January, went through spring practice and had a sack in the Orange-and-White game in April.
Gore had 12 sacks, 24 tackles for loss and nine blocked kicks last season for East Columbus High School.
