Benedict, Virginia Union officials to talk classic

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Representatives from Benedict and Virginia Union are meeting to talk about the 2011 Palmetto Capital City Classic.

Officials will talk about the game on Wednesday at Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. This year’s game takes place on Sept. 3 at Benedict’s Charlie W. Johnson Stadium. The Palmetto Capital City marks its 10th anniversary this season.

Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin and Richland County Council chairman Paul Livingston will also speak at the outing.
