Woman killed in Orr Street shooting identified; suspect arrested

RICHLAND CO., S.C. (WOLO) – The Richland County Coroner has identified a woman who was shot and killed by her acquaintance on Sunday.

Coroner Naida Rutherford says Barbara Dinkins, 48, of Columbia, died from her wounds.

Columbia Police say her acquaintance, Elijah Lindsay, shot and killed her at a home on Orr Street.

Officers say he was found at a West Beltline Boulevard gas station and charged with murder & possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

He’s being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

This incident is still under investigation.
