UPDATE: Beaufort deputies arrest suspect in fatal stabbing

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)—Beaufort deputies arrested 65 year-old Roberto Mayorga after a man suffered fatal stab wounds.

Authorities say they were called on July 13 after 9 p.m. to Shanklin Road in Burton for a 29 year-old man who was bleeding outside a home. He was transported to a local hospital, but died from his injuries.

Investigators say the victim was socializing at the home in Laurel Village with Mayorga. The incident occurred after a verbal altercation between the two.

Mayorga was charged with murder on Thursday and transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
