15-year-old driver, her brother killed in SC crash

SWANSEA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 15-year-old driver and her 10-year-old brother have been killed after their car crashed into an 18-wheeler in Lexington County.

Coroner Harry Harman says Crystal Torres and her brother Bryan Torres died in the wreck around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 321 near Swansea.

Harman says the Honda that Torres was driving turned on to the highway in front of the tractor trailer.

Authorities say a 14-year-old passenger in the car also was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The coroner says all three people in the Honda were wearing seatbelts.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
