Man Arrested for 2014 Double Murder on Archer Avenue
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Authorities have arrested a 33-year-old man who was wanted in connection to a double murder on Archer Avenue in December.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Ryan Mauzon Padgett was taken in to custody on Tuesday, January 5 and has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent felony.
Officials say that just after 9 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at a home on Archer Avenue in Elgin deputies found the bodies of Tyrone Richardson and Mark Cox with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Both victims were pronounced both victims dead at the scene.
Acquaintances of the victims discovered the bodies at the location after arriving to drop off Christmas presents, authorities say.
Padgett has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
