Lugoff House Fire Leads to Meth Arrests

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Two people are facing charges after firefighter’s responding to a house fire in the 500 block of Railgate Loop in Lugoff discovered meth.

Authorities arrested 27-year-old Katrina Severson and 25-year-old Andrew Dylan Wells and charged the pair with manufacturing methamphetamine.

The Blaney Fire Department, the Lugoff Fire Department and the Doby’s Mill Fired Department all responded to the fire just after 1 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and in the process discovered items they believed to be associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine, officials say.

Officials say equipment used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine as well as a small amount of methamphetamine was seized.

Severson and Wells were arrested at the scene and transported to the Kershaw County Detention Center where they are awaiting a bond hearing.

Authorities say Wells has no previous arrest record; Severson has previously been charged with traffic and DUI offenses.
