Championship Game Boosts Sales for Midlands Businesses
Columbia, S.C. (WOLO) — Riled up and ready.
From Clemson to Columbia, Tiger fans are set for their shot at the National title.
A win over the Crimson Tide would cap off a perfect season for the Tigers and be a dream come true for their fans.
But fans aren’t the only ones thrilled by the team’s success. For retailers specializing in orange and purple apparel, the recent spike in spirit is benefiting their bottom lines.
“It’s a huge boost in business just because we get more foot traffic, we sell more merchandise we have to bring a lot more in,” says Phillip Graham, supervisor at Tiger Paw Traditions.
He continues,”Its been absolutely mind blowing how much traffic and merchandise has come in and out of this store simply because of how well Clemson has done.”
South Carolina sports bars and restaurants have been experiencing the same increase in traffic throughout the Tigers stellar season.
“The games actually bring more people, we sell a lot of wings during that time,” explains Dale Thomson with Hickory Tavern.
The same is expected for tonight’s match up. Clemson fans flocking, hoping for a victory.
